Fire Safety Fridays
First & third Fridays each month at about 10:30am
It's our favorite Friday! Join us for a chance to meet one of Portland's firefighters and to sit on a real fire truck! (This program is sometimes abbreviated or cancelled when the firefighters must respond to a call. We appreciate your understanding.)

Join us every Monday at 10am for a program just for Museum & Theatre members. Whether you're making creative works of art to exploring animal adaptations, you won't be disappointed!
Members Mondays take place from 9-11am September through May, except during school vacation weeks and holidays when the Museum & Theatre is open to the public.

Tiny Tots
Every Thursday at 10:30am
This special series of programs designed specifically for toddlers (12-36 months). We'll learn about the world through body movement, music, sensory art projects and more!

Stage Stories
Daily
Have you ever wanted to be an actor in a play? Here's your chance to be a star, wear a costume, turn on some lights, or just watch a show! We offer lively interactive performances of The Three Little Pigs and other favorite stories.

Teensy Weensy Production Class (R$)

Each month features a new four-class weekly session devoted to a different story. On the final day of class, children will put on a show for friends and family! The class was created for our youngest actors, ages 4 to 5. Cost is $60/child for members, $75/child for non-members for four sessions, or $15 to try out one class.

Saturday Live (R$)

This is a special program for kids between the ages of 6 and 11. We'll learn improv theatre games and rehearse sketch comedy, all to put on a very fun comedy show an hour later for our museum audience! Live from the Dress Up Theatre, it's Saturday Morning! $10 per class.

American Girls Club

Join in the fun as we meet one of the many American Girl© characters and learn about everyday life for her and her family during the time in which she lived. From Addy to Kirsten and Felicity to Josefina, join us as we discover American history, engage in activities and craft-making and explore the worlds of these adventurous characters!

Star Shows

Explore the stars and constellations. Hear Diné/Navajo, Chinese or Greek tales as you learn the facts and stories that surround the night sky.

Art Through the Ages
Every Tuesday at 3:30pm
Join us for this tribute to art past and present. This program is to give visitors of all ages a more in-depth understanding of art's place in our lives. We'll study a famous work and then create our own with a new artist and project each month!

Open Art Studio
Every Wednesday from 11am-12pm
Every Saturday from 2-3pm
Join us for open studio time where you can explore painting, collage and sculpture through self-guided projects. To help you craft your wildest masterpieces, we'll have an arts educator on hand and occasional guest artists. Come experiment with paint, clay, fabric, paper and found objects.

Where Science Meets Art

Camera Obscura

Visit one of the best-kept secrets in Portland! You'll se what it's like inside a camera as we explore light and optics while observing the city of Portland - and be wowed by the "magical" technology behind the show!

Sparks' Ark Live Animal Show
