Volunteers
The Children's Museum & Theatre of Maine has a team of wonderful volunteers who donate their time and talents to help us inspire learning through play.We are currently looking for...
Education Volunteers: Are you a teacher at heart? Or maybe you just really love astronomy, sea creatures or photography. Become an Education Volunteer and lead Star Shows, Tide Pool Touch Tank programs, Discover Dinosaurs, and MUCH more!
Theatre Volunteers: We're always looking for theatrical types to help us with a wide variety of theatre programs, including theatrical storytelling, preschool theatre workshops and our ongoing theatre season.
Cultural Volunteers: Do you have a special tradition, holiday or culture that you'd like to share with your community? Cultural Volunteers can help with anything from putting together a Holi Hestival to making Moroccan Mint Tea to celebrating Passover.
Art Volunteers: If you're creative, we have lots of opportunities for you to share your talents! Help out by leading painting projects, creating sculptures out of recycled materials, face painting... the possibilities are endless!
Greenhouse Volunteers: We have a brand new greenhouse in the backyard and would love extra hands in the dirt! If you've got a green thumb and would like to be a Greenhouse Guide - or help water, weed, and harvest our vegetables - let us know!
We are always accepting applications for volunteer positions. We receive many applications and our screening and traning process is very thorough; not all volunteers will be accepted. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this process.
Volunteer shifts are flexible and are available Tuesday-Saturday (and Mondays during the summer months) from 10am-5pm and Sunday 12pm-5pm. A minimum commitment of 4 hours per month is requested, and training is provided.
