Call For Choreographers
Seeking Choreographers for the 2024 - 2025 Season in CMTM’s Maddy’s Theatre.
Help set the stage for all children to imagine and learn through play as a choreographer in the 2024- 2025 theatre season at the Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine (CMTM)!
POSITION PURPOSE
The Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine is seeking choreographers for three productions in the upcoming theatre season. Two are TYA productions of adults performing for family audiences, and one is an intergenerational production of youth and adult actors performing together. The Choreographer reports directly to the Theatre Production Manager. This is a part-time temporary position: $16/hr. The Choreographer is paid for time in rehearsals and production meetings.
POSITION SUMMARY
Work closely with production director to identify moments of specific choreography (songs or movement sequences)
Attend rehearsals as designated by the production director
Attend weekly production meetings
Work closely with the actors on bringing the physical world of the show to life
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

Comfort working with artists of various physical abilities

SCHEDULING AVAILABILITY
Approximately 3 - 10 hours a week, schedule may vary based on needs of the production and
the schedule agreed upon with the director. Rehearsals are typically on weekdays from 6-9pm,
tech rehearsals are weekdays 6-10pm. This is a part-time temporary position at $16/hr.
Choreographers are not required to attend performances. See specific rehearsal calendars
below for more information.

Rehearsals are typically on weekdays from 6-8pm
Tech rehearsals are weekdays 6-10pm.
Performances: June 29 - July 28, 2024

Rehearsals are typically on weekdays from 6-8pm
Tech rehearsals are weekdays 6-10pm.
