CMTM Celebrates Pride Month!
June is right around the corner, which means it’s almost time for PRIDE!
The Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine is marking this joyous occasion with a variety of MakerSpace programs and activities ongoing throughout the month.

MakerSpace: Pride Month!
June 1 - 26, MakerSpace, 2nd Floor
Celebrate Pride Month together at the Museum & Theatre's Makerspace throughout the month of June! We will create using all the colors of the rainbow through a variety of projects designed for young Makers. Explore bins filled with multi-colored materials to make your own project, or seek inspiration from a staff-inspired creation. Free choice art supplies will also be available for makers of all ages. MakerSpace open twice daily, once in the morning, and once in the afternoon. Included with admission.
Rainbow Feather Collaborative Art Project
June 7 - 9, 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm, MakerSpace, 2nd Floor
Help make extra-large wings to celebrate Pride Month. This guided activity in MakerSpace will incorporate multiple textures and colors as Makers design their feathers to be added to the Pride Month display. Free choice art supplies will also be available for makers of all ages. Included with admission.
More Ways to Celebrate
CMTM’s Pride Celebration began on May 28 with a special performance of Lindz Amer’s Pride All Year ‘Round! in Maddy’s Theatre. This musical journey through LGBTQ+ history was so much fun, and we’re looking forward to welcoming Lindz back in the future!
If you missed out on seeing Lindz, there are lots of other ways to connect with their message, including their popular LGBTQ+ family web series Queer Kid Stuff.
Lindz is also the author of a new resource for parents, Rainbow Parenting, Your Guide to Raising Queer Kids and Their Allies. Rainbow Parenting is currently available for pre-order from Print: A Bookstore, with a publication date of May 30, 2023.
Plan Your Visit
All Pride activities are included with admission. All adults must be accompanied by a child. Reservations are recommended for visitors and members. Visits are offered in three-hour blocks beginning at 9 am-noon.
