Sunday October 31st, 2021: Happy Halloween Celebration!

Put on your costume and come on down to the Museum & Theatre’s first Halloween celebration at Thompson’s Point! Show off your flashiest dance moves at the Monster Mash Dance Party, search for mysterious creatures in the aquarium scavenger hunt, create a festive creation in the Makerspace, and, of course, trick or treat throughout the Museum & Theatre’s exhibits. This celebration will be happening in the morning from 9 am - 12 pm and again in the afternoon from 1 pm - 4 pm. This means all new exhibits to explore and trick treat throughout! This event is generously sponsored by our long-time partner Northeast Delta Dental. All treats will be nut and dairy free. Please note that food or drink is not allowed in the indoor exhibits so please plan to consume any treats from trick or treating in our outdoor exhibits or after your visit!

This event requires a special ticket for everyone ages 18 months and up, including Museum & Theatre members. Members receive a 10% discount on this event. To receive your discount, log into your member portal.

Do you have an All Access Membership or Celebration Membership? Your membership includes tickets to the event! Please email boxoffice@kitetails.org to reserve your tickets.

Play Your Way is BACK!

Come experience a low-key Halloween at the Children's Museum & Theatre of Maine during a festive playtime for children with sensory integration challenges. Follow a trick or treat visual map to find treats throughout the Museum & Theatre, play in our exhibits, and show off your costume in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Play Your Way events are monthly sessions earmarked for anyone who would benefit from a quieter play time. Free admission for each Play Your Way event breaks down financial barriers to participation and creates a low-risk opportunity to try out the Museum & Theatre. Often families attend Play Your Way events to connect with families with similar identities. Staff have adapted Play Your Way sessions through consultation with Maine Behavioral Health, Spurwink, Woodford’s Community Services, and Maine Autism Society. This is a perfect time for families affected by Autism, Down syndrome, Sensory Processing Disorder, or other challenges to experience the Museum & Theatre and celebrate the season. Our staff will make special adjustments to our normal exhibit lighting and sound design; noise-reducing headphones will be available. A limited number of visitors will be admitted to ensure a calm and welcoming play environment.

Thank you to our long-time partner WEX for sponsoring this event.

This event is free to all but registration is required. All parking on Thompson's Point is paid parking using one of the onsite kiosks or the Passport to Park phone app.
Sensory Trick or Treat will be on Thursday, October 28th from 5 pm to 7 pm.
