Halloween at Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine a Not-So-Scary Affair

Halloween at Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine a Not-So-Scary Affair

Thanks to generous support from the Northeast Delta Dental Foundation, the Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine (CMTM) will present a Not-So-Scary Halloween celebration on Monday, October 31, 2022, from 10 am to 1 pm, designed for toddlers and their caregivers. The event is part of a calendar of family-friendly events and a new 21+ After Dark series intended to provide a broad range of programming and access to the Museum & Theatre.

One ticketed session will be made available for the Not-So-Scary Toddler Halloween. Visitors are invited to wear their favorite costumes for the outdoor Labyrinth Walk costume parade (weather permitting) and bring their silliest dance moves to the Not Scary Dance Party in Maddy’s Theatre. Children are also invited to create a festive Halloween craft in the MakerSpace. Trick-or-treating will be available at each Halloween activity station. Toddler-friendly and non-candy options will be made available. This event is nut and dairy-free. Northeast Delta Dental Foundation will provide an oral-health-themed treat at their Healthy Halloween exhibit in the Atrium to assist visitors in their oral-health maintenance.

Each Halloween, CMTM hosts a variety of festivities designed for the whole family. New this year, the Museum & Theatre will host its first After Dark: Halloween Event on October 27, intended for visitors 21+. In addition to After Dark, three days of activities for children and their caregivers will round out the calendar, including Weekend Halloween activities, Skull & Bones exploration, and even Jack O’ Lanterns in an aquarium tank. An additional ticketed event, Nature’s Nightshift: Nocturnal Animal Show, presented by the Center for Wildlife on October 29 at 1 pm.
