Giuliana Bennett is thrilled to have her first play included in the Youth Playwriting Festival. She is ten years old and has been making books since she was four. She wants to be an author and illustrator when she grows up. Giuliana loves to act, dance and play music. She enjoys creating stories that take exciting twists and turns. She is eager to be part of the Festival as a playwright and actor.

Ben Callaway was born in Portland, and raised in Westbrook, Maine. He finished writing this play when he was 17 years old, and he is currently 18. He is the writer of the first and second parts of the June Goose trilogy. He started taking French lessons back in 2024, and then he decided, "Hmm, maybe the geese should travel to Québec City and have some lines in French!" In his spare time, he likes to write books and scripts, work on graphic design, build things in Minecraft, and also work on fire exit maps of buildings. June Goose 3: Attack of the Hangry Goslings is his final play for Maddy's Theatre, and he hopes everyone else will continue writing good stories (and sequels!) for the Maddy's Theatre Youth Playwriting festival in the future. Mr. Callaway now lives on campus at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, New Hampshire.

Flora Cloutier is 10 years old and lives in Scarborough with parents, younger brother and adorable dog. She has been building characters and creating stories since before she could read. Flora wrote The Flawful Story because “I have always loved 4th wall breaks, like someone talking to a camera or protagonists changing their story. So I wrote a play that is just one big 4th wall break.” One of Flora’s favorite activities is creating D&D characters and she wants to be a writer/interior designer when she grows up.

Elias Emerson (age 14, he/him) is delighted to participate in the Youth Playwriting Festival this year. Not only is Maddy’s Theatre his favorite place on earth, but the Festival is his favorite Maddy’s event! Other Playwriting Festivals have included his plays, Heroes of the Fern and The O.T. Group. When he’s not engaged in theater, Elias can be found reading, solving fictional mysteries, or imagining his next play.

Wesley Pierson is a 15-year-old actor and writer who has been writing for several years, with a passion for theater and storytelling. He was inspired to write The Waiting Room to raise awareness about people experiencing loss while recognizing the doctors and nurses who witness these difficult moments without the same personal connection.

Ani Platt (She/Them) is 11 years old and has been writing since she was eight. Her play was inspired by her first sleepaway camp, where she made new friends and had a great time. When not writing, Ani enjoys basketball, swimming, dancing, and singing. She previously wrote and directed Gymnastics Girl and Aria Gold: The Musical in her garage with friends.

Hello, I am Angelina Skinner, I am 8 years old and I am in 3rd grade at Sebago Elementary School. Unicorn Dreams 2: The Dungeon is the sequel to my first play that was performed at last year’s Youth Playwriting Festival. It was called Unicorn Dreams. Julia Taylor is 11 years old and this is her first play! She wrote The Wishing Watch because she felt it would be an interesting story to watch on stage. When Julia grows up she wants to be a teacher. In her free time she likes to act in theatre productions, swim, and spend time with friends.

My name is Evie Witmer and I live in Yarmouth, Maine. This is my first time writing a play and I was inspired by theater camp this summer. I love reading and playing school and I am a Swiftie. My favorite color is teal. I want to be a stylist when I grow up.

Artie and Hugo are 10 and 7. They love to play together and use their imaginations! They saw lots of signs that said "Cumberland" while moving to Maine last year, which inspired them to create the world of "Cucumberland!" Artie enjoys biking, reading, and hiking. Hugo enjoys art, Minecraft, and baseball. They both enjoy playing with friends and Cub Scouts!
