Ukulele Class for 5-9 Year Olds (R$)

Jump into the world of ukuleles! Learn basic rhythm patterns with help from shakers and bells. Then tune up and start strumming the ukulele as we learn basic chords to strum along to the classic songs. Participants will need a ukulele for the duration of the class. The Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine is offering the second round of a pilot program designed to empower early childhood education teachers to use curriculum-focused creative drama methodologies in the classroom. Teensy Weensy Theatre Class for 3-5 Year Olds: Halloween Tales

The Teensy Weensy Acting Program is an opportunity for 3 to 5 year olds to gain confidence to tell stories with the help of music, puppets, and props.  In this session, we will celebrate Halloween with some spooky stories and creative costumes. Family and friends are invited to join on the last day of class for a special 11am performance of our original spooky story.

Monarch Butterfly Camp

In mid-summer, the milkweed grows tall all over Maine, and monarch butterflies are flying through our parks and meadows. Observe real caterpillars, observe metamorphosis in action and learn more about these fantastic creatures through dance, drama and art. Map the milkweed in our neighborhood. Champion these insects along their great migration to Mexico.

Folktale Camp

Venture into the world of make-believe as we act, sing, engineer, paint, and play our way through the magical world of fairy tales with a fun twist: we’re featuring stories with “threes.” Act out the Three Little Pigs on stage, watch an interactive puppet show of The Three Billy Goats Gruff, engineer a bed for each of the three bears, and sing a happier version of The Three Blind Mice nursery rhyme all while meeting at least three new friends!
